Education is the key for a successful career, which is why it is the primary responsibility of all parents to send their children to school. Although education is a necessity, not all parents are able to fund their children’s schooling. Others usually stop after they graduate from high school.

This is truly happening in almost any part of the world, and according to statistics, the number is increasing year after year. And this is probably why the government and other private organizations are looking for ways to give scholarships to capable students with limited financial resources.

Students are not alike; in fact, each individual has his/her own distinct characteristic and talent. Some students have talents in the arts, dancing, singing, and music. Now, there are scholarships for particular fields of interest. And if you do love music very much, there are a lot of scholarships for college music.

President Obama recently unveiled an initiative calling on all Americans to help in our nation’s recovery by volunteering in their communities this summer. The President’s call to summer service launches United We Serve, a sustained effort to expand the size and impact of volunteer efforts in addressing tough challenges facing the nation. Mrs. Obama will officially kick off this service initiative on June 22 at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in San Francisco. That same day, President Obama’s Cabinet secretaries will travel across the country to lead service efforts throughout the nation and highlight organizations that will be participating in this initiative. The service initiative will conclude with a National Day of Service on Sept. 11, 2009.

Local events are planned to support the President’s volunteerism initiative. Two area events scheduled for Monday, June 22, include:
