The 2010 SeaWorld/Busch Gardens Environmental Excellence Awards recognize the outstanding efforts of students and teachers across the country who are working at the grassroots level to protect and preserve the environment. Entrants must demonstrate significant accomplishments that have occurred prior to the submission deadline. Schools (grades K-12) and community groups are eligible to apply. The Washington Post 2010 Award for Excellence in Nonprofit Management recognizes outstanding management practices in the nonprofit sector and inspires other organizations to strive to become more effective. The award includes a cash grant of $10,000 and a scholarship to Georgetown University’s Center for Public and Nonprofit Leadership’s Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program. Announcing the first EVER — AmeriCorps Alums Heller School National Service Scholarship Program.
An amazing $1 M scholarship program has been created by Brandeis University just for AmeriCorps alums and staff in recognition of your contributions to civic engagement and the greater good through the service you provide to your country and communities! This one-of-a-kind National Service Scholarship Program is designed to honor national and community service by recognizing those who have served in AmeriCorps.
All qualified AmeriCorps alumni applicants will be considered for one or more full tuition scholarships based on a supplemental essay describing the value of and plans for continued citizen service.

The Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) has updated its DataFinder application to include 2008 Census American Community Survey poverty data. The DataFinder is a custom, easy-to-use tool developed to provide select demographic information as well as administrative data on programs that affect low-income people and families. Mary Byron Project, a national organization working to address the root causes of domestic violence and help build safer, healthier communities announces awards to showcase and applaud local innovations that demonstrate promise in breaking the cycle of violence. The program provides cash awards of $10,000 to each organization. The awards would be presented to programs that can serve as models for the nation in their efforts to reduce violence. Eligible applicants are non-profits organizations and government agencies.
